Fellowships
Fellow contracts are administered through CBG. They include employer contributions to the pension fund and salary deductions for tax, social security, pension, and health insurance.
Such fellowships include the Branco Weiss Postdoctoral Fellowship, EMBO Fellowships, HFSP Fellowships, EU Marie Curie. and several DFG Fellowships and Programmes.
Stipends
Stipends result in a guest contract with CBG and are directly paid to the postdoc. Although these may be tax exempt, they don’t include employer contributions and the awardee is in charge of paying their own health insurance and pension.
These stipends include the Humboldt Research Fellowship, Georg Forster Research Fellowship, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellowship.
