What is the difference between a fellowship and a stipend?
Fellow contracts are administered directly through CBG. They include employer contributions to the pension fund and salary deductions for tax, social security, pension, and health insurance.
Stipends result in a guest contract with CBG and are directly paid to the postdoc. Although these may be tax exempt, they don’t include employer contributions and the awardee is in charge of paying their own health insurance and pension contributions.
What are the Pre-award and Post-award phases?
Pre-award refers to the phase of identifying suitable funding opportunities and aplying to them, whereas post-award refers to managing grant funds, reporting, and audits.
