In 2012, Ivo Sbalzarini moved from ETH Zurich to Dresden to become a founding member of the Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD). Since 2014, Ivo is also a Professor of Computer Science at TU Dresden, where he holds the Chair of Scientific Computing for Systems Biology at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Previously, Ivo has been Professor of Computational Science at ETH Zurich, group leader in Bioinformatics at MedILS, and invited professor of biology at ENS in Paris. Ivo’s research interests include data-driven modeling of living systems, spatio-temporal modeling of biological processes, and multi-scale simulations in space and time on parallel high-performance computer systems. Ivo founded the successful M.Sc. program Computational Modeling and Simulation at TU Dresden and is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science of TU Dresden.
