The Electron Microscopy Facility at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden, Germany, has a new service leader. Felix Lange joins the institute from the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen. In his new role, he wants to pass on the fascination of electron microscopy (EM) and use the know-how to help scientists with their projects.
“As a scientist and lifelong learner, I'm constantly seeking out new techniques and technology to improve workflows and expand knowledge. My background spans many different disciplines, and I thrive on learning from those more advanced than me through constant questioning and conversation,” says Felix Lange. “I am looking forward to working on multidisciplinary levels here at the MPI-CBG.”
Felix Lange studied biochemistry and biomedicine at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and at Leipzig University. For his PhD, he joined the research lab of Stefan Hell at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen. He stayed there for his postdoctoral work. During his time in Göttingen, Felix acquired extensive knowledge of the whole portfolio of EM techniques, from the basic ones to cryo-EM.
