The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) is a program of funding for frontier research in the life sciences. The HFSP has announced the 2014 winners for their funding awards – with a successful application by a MPI-CBG research group leader:
Jan Brugues, joint MPI-CBG/MPI-PKS Research Group Leader, has been awarded one of the highly prestigious and competitive Career Development Award. This award is designed to assist HFSP Long Term Fellows in their transition to independence – it supports establishing an own research program. This year, 12 Career Development Awards were made from 62 applications. Jan and his group use egg extracts from the African clawed frog Xenopus laevis and study the mechanisms of spindle morphology and scaling during early development.
Congratulations to all 2014 winners from the MPI-CBG!
